Benchmark Advance
The Benchmark Advance program architecture provides a cohesive K-6 framework for the development of content knowledge over time. Engaging, multi-genre reading selections, complex read-alouds, decodable texts, differentiated leveled texts, and reader’s theater experiences are integrated into each three-week unit. Students are immersed deeply in the topic, expanding their academic knowledge and vocabulary as they build literacy and English language skills.
Unit 1: Government at Work
In this unit, students will learn about the 3 branches of government and why we need them.
Standard: Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text.
